THE HACKER SPOT
BANNERS ARE FINALLY GOOD FOR SOMETHING.
︎
Visually impaired people use the screen reader to surf on the internet. For them, internet banners are nothing but a bunch of random letters and numbers.
That's because not all content is accessible to these users: by passing through a banner or an image, the system just reads the source code behind them.
We decided this couldn't go on. So we modified web banners from different advertisers and turn them into a space of inclusion: we replaced the codes with texts that broadcast useful information for visually impaired people, such as rehabilitation courses, health tips, and laws. As each device is able to read the content, the campaign had no production cost.
